Recommended Halifax Plasterer

I know it’s a cliche, but it’s true that customer service is very important in this line of work and making sure that the customer is happy and the job is done to the highest level possible is what it’s all about. It also leads to more work and word spreading.

A lot of my work comes from repeat business and word of mouth, and I’m extremely proud of the testimonials I get from the folks I work for – many of whom have been customers for many years.

It’s important that you can trust your plasterer and feel confident that you’re getting the best quality workmanship which is why I guarantee all my work.

Plastering Services I Offer

As well as plastering, I also do dry lining, screeding and rendering. I will be happy to give you honest advice on the best solution in your particular case, but here are quick ‘rough guides’ to each different discipline:

Dry Lining

Dry lining is a relatively dry proces, using plasterboard fixed to the walls. One advantage of dry lining is that it can be decorated relatively soon after completion. Dry lining can be skim coated with a thin coat of plaster which gives a finish that’s pretty much indistinguishable from hard plaster, or alternatively can be taped and jointed using special paper tape.

Where possible, the more durable Gypsum Fibre Boards are preferred to regular plasterboards, and these give better sound insulatione and are strong enough that you can add fixings to them directly.

A screed is a layer of sand and cement poured on top of concrete or insulation used to build a floor.

A floor screed can be mixed on site from sharp sand and cement, and finishing materials can be applied directly or alternatively you can leave it bare. Screeded garage floors have to have reinforcement mesh within them.

Rendering is the finish applied usually to the outside of a building and is normally carried out with a one, two or three, coat render of sand and cement.

Pebbledash is created by thickening the final coat and then dashing (throwing) pebbles into the mixture and pushing them home with a trowel, and gives the bumpy textured finish that you see on the outside of houses.
